How to Play — 5 Simple Steps

- 03 Arrange Your Hands — Strategy phase: split your 4 hole cards into two distinct 2-card hands.
- 04 Check or Raise — Check or Raise (2× Ante) each hand independently.
- 05 The Showdown — Turn and River are revealed. Each hand is evaluated independently against the dealer’s best 5-card hand.

How to Play
- 01 Ante & Deal — Place an Ante bet. Player and dealer each receive 3 cards face-down.
- 02 Raise or Fold — View your hand and choose to Raise (1×, 2×, or 3× Ante) or Fold.
- 03 The Chase — 3 community cards are dealt face-up. Select 1 card to complete your 4-card hand; the remaining 2 cards pass to the dealer.
- 04 Showdown — Dealer reveals their hand. Unmatched suits/ranks form Badugi hands (4-card beats 3-card; lowest top card wins; Aces low).

- In 1999, I won the Battle.net Season 1 Ladder World Championship, the first official world title for StarCraft: Brood War (Random). Before that, on Kali and Case’s Ladder (mentored by Bill “Bill1” Macaitis), I held #1 rankings in Command & Conquer with Team Synergy and Top 3 / #1 team ranks in Warcraft II with Clan C4L.
- GX StarCraft & Pimpest Plays
- With Thresh and Calbear at Gamers.com I ran GX StarCraft, blogging the international tournaments, battle reports written immediately after high-stakes matches analyzing top-tier ladder play, and “Pimpest Plays,” a curated highlight reel on GX StarCraft.
- Magic: The Gathering
- Introduced to competitive Magic through Brian Weissman at Round Table Pizza in Palo Alto; consistent PTQ Top 8s while Magic was still a side game; two-time Pro Tour competitor (qualified for three); and the original creator of the Cube Draft format.
